LAHORE: Indian actress Sharmila Tagore Sunday decided to extend her stay in Pakistan by a day more after police stopped her at Wagah border due to incomplete travelling documents.
Despite the fact that the missing document, which turned out be a police report – mandatory for all visiting Indian in Pakistan, was provided through fax, Sharmila later changed her programme and decided to extend her stay in Lahore for one more day.
The popular heroine of Indian films of her times and the daughter-in-law of the Pataudi family, Sharmila Tagore had come to Pakistan on a four-day visit to Lahore.
She participated in the Lahore Literary Festival (LLF) and later called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at his residence in Raiwind. She also met with her relatives in Lahore.
She appeared delighted to witness Lahore and enjoyed her visit to one of the historic cities of the Subcontinent.
